Corey joined Hamilton Foot Care in 2023 from the U.S. after meeting his Canadian wife and moving to Hamilton to establish permanent roots and a home.

Corey graduated with a Bioengineering degree from University of Toledo before obtaining his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then did a three-year Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency with a credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at Montefiore Medical Centre in the Bronx, New York.

From 2017 to 2019, Corey worked in private practice in Denver, Colorado, at Colorado Clinics for the Foot and Ankle, Rose Medical Amputation Prevention Centre, and North Suburban Wound Care and Hyperbarics. He then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to become a staff podiatrist at Kansas City Foot & Ankle for 3.5 years, before moving to Hamilton. In his free time, Corey enjoys playing tennis, soccer, hockey, and board games, as well as hiking and trekking with his wife, Andie, and dog, Cholula. A Michigan native and diehard Detroit sports fan, you'll find him cheering on the Lions and Red Wings.

Dr Irv Luftig B.Sc, DPM, Founder of Hamilton Foot Care

After graduating from University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in 1976 , Dr Luftig went on to obtain his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine / Case Western Reserve University in 1980. He then returned to Toronto for a residency-preceptor program , working with Dr Hamilton Hall MD (orthopedics) , as well as Dr Ricky Schachter MD (chief of Dermatology) , and Dr Glenn Copeland (chief of Podiatric Medicine) at Womens College Hospital , University Health Network in Toronto . He started his private practice, Hamilton Footcare, in 1981 , and then formed a second office in Mississauga at Credit Valley Hospital with Dr Steve Rosenfeld MD (orthopedic surgery ) . Dr Luftig enjoys staying active, playing ice hockey and tennis 3 or 4 times every week. Following his retirement, he has hand picked Corey Bess, B.Sc, DPM to continue serving his patients.
